INTRODUCTION
In this fast-developing society, an engineer plays a vital role. he is rightly called the creator" a man who puts his imagination into actual practices. He thinks of problem in his mind and conveys them to other through the language of system lines, which is called Engineering drawing. therefore. an engineer must have knowledge of this language to project his ideas correctly on paper and execute the job efficiently and effectively with help of this drawing. In other words, Drawing is the language of engineers.
1. ARTISTIC DRAWING
The representation of an object on a piece of paper by giving various shades and colors to the object an artist is known as artistic drawing. This drawing gives a general and similar outlook of the object and not the exact shape & size. Artist generally uses it for commercial purposes such as cinema slides, sign and advertisement boards.
2 . CHARACTERISTICS OF ARTISTIC DRAWING
The four types characteristics of artistic drawing;-
1 The artistic drawing can be understood or read even by a layman.
2 It does not give the exact shape and size of the object,
3 The workman for the execution of work cannot use artistic drawing, as it does not include all information necessary for the construction of the object.
4 Artistic drawing is not made according to set rules and conventions lay by
3 . ENGINEERING DRAWING
part of a representation of engineering objects such as buildings, roads, machines, etc. on a paper is called an engineering drawing. Engineering drawing is the systematic combination of different types of lines or simply the science of lines.
4 . CHARACTERISTICS OF ENGINEERING DRAWING
the four types characteristics of engineering drawing
[1] Geometrical drawing;-
{1} Plane Geometrical drawing.
{2} Solid Geometrical drawing.
[2] Mechanical Engineering drawing.
[3] Civil Engineering drawing.
[4] Electrical and Electronic Engineering drawing.
5. GEOMETRICAL DRAWING
The art of representation of geometrical objects such as square, rectangle, circle triangle, polygon , cylinder, cone sphere, pyramid, etc on a piece of paper is known as Geometrical drawing
{1} Plane geometrical drawing;-
The art of representation of the plane geometrical figures such as rectangle, circle, triangle , polygon , cone , sphere , pyramid, etc on a piece of paper known as Geometrical drawing.
{2} Solid geometrical drawing :- The art of representation of solid geometrical object such as cylinder , cone , sphere , prism ,pyramid etc on a piece of paper is known as solid geometrical drawing . It is also know as descriptive or practical solid geometrical drawing.
6. MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DRAWING
The art of representation of mechanical engineering objects such as machines, parts etc on a paper is called mechanical Engg. drawing, This drawing is commonly used by mechanized Engineers to express mechanical Engineering work.
7. CIVIL ENGINEERING DRAWING
The art of representation of civil Engineering objects such as roads, buildings, bridges, dam, etc on paper is called a civil engineering drawing, This drawing, This drawing is commonly used by civil engineers to express civil engineering work.
8. ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING DRAWING
The art representation of electrical objects such as motors, generators, transformed, poles, towers, wiring diagrams, etc on paper is called an electrical engineering drawing. This drawing is commonly used by electrical engineers to express electrical engineers' work or their projects.
9. DRAWING INSTRUMENTS
For the reparation of any drawing of an object, it is quite essential to use drawing instruments correctly and accurately in order to get the required degree of accuracy, But the accuracy of drawing depends mainly on the quality of drawing instrument to be used, It is, therefore, Essential for the students to purchase instrument of good qulity.
